Recently, the reporter confirmed from the three major operators, the National Development and Reform Commission and other relevant departments have approved the unicom, telecommunications, mobile in Beijing and other parts of the city pilot construction of 5G network.
Three operators to pilot 5G network in Beijing
China Unicom has disclosed that in combination with the 12 pilot cities approved by the NDRC and the approval of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), China Unicom will carry out 5G pilot projects in 16 cities, including Beijing, Tianjin, Qingdao, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Wuhan, Guiyang, Chengdu, Shenzhen, Fuzhou, Zhengzhou and Shenyang.
China Mobile said it would conduct 5G field tests in five cities, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Suzhou and Wuhan, with more than 100 5G base stations in each city. In addition to the above five cities, China Mobile will also be in Beijing, Chengdu, Shenzhen and other 12 cities for 5G business demonstration.
China Telecom's 5G pilot cities are currently tentatively designated as "6 + 6", including six previously identified places: Xiongan, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Suzhou, Chengdu and Lanzhou. In addition, China Telecom will continue to expand the scope of pilot projects in accordance with the requirements of relevant ministries and commissions, and will add six more cities.
Shandong Unicom has launched a 5G trial, with a peak speed of more than ten times that of the 4G network.
With the determination of the first edition of 5G standard at the end of last year, 5G has officially entered the countdown stage. Shandong Unicom has launched the 5G pilot project, and its network pilot was launched in Qingdao in March. After one stage of networking, the peak rate is more than ten times that of the 4G network.
Beijing will take the lead in developing commercial demonstration of 5G network in Beijing Vice-Center, Beijing Expo Park in 2019, Beijing New Airport, 2022 Winter Olympics venues and so on. At present, Beijing has carried out corresponding tests on 5G in Huairou proving ground.
Minister of industry and Commerce: driverless vehicle and UAV need 5G network.
During the two sessions this year, Miao Wei, Minister of industry and information technology, answered reporters' questions on 5G communications.
Miao Wei pointed out that in the 5G era, the standard of time delay will be from seconds to milliseconds, that is, the time delay is less than 1 millisecond, which is completely imperceptible. But for the control of unmanned vehicles and UAVs, it can be said that one millisecond of network delay may lead to vehicle crash and death, at this time, the need for high bandwidth, low delay, wide coverage of the 5G network. He also revealed that China has begun to study 6G communication technology.
What new experiences will 5G bring?
First of all, 5G means a great leap forward in network speed and quality. Experts said that compared with 4G, 5G peak speed can reach 20Gbps, each square kilometer can link more than 1 million. For example, it takes less than 2 seconds to download 6GB HD movies. It can greatly enhance the entire user experience and reduce the cost of network operators.
Speed up, the application scope will also expand. Intelligent driving, intelligent medical and other new technologies and new applications accelerated landing, more and more unmanned factories were born, the Internet of Things in many areas of large-scale applications, urban construction, social management has become intelligent because of new technologies.
Luo Wen, Deputy Minister of industry and information technology, believes that 5G will accelerate the digital transformation of many industries, mobile data flow in the next few years will be blowout growth, a strong support for the vigorous development of the digital economy. At the same time, China with huge scenes and markets is expected to rely on 5G to lead the frontier.
